EDGE SOPHOMORE ELITE 2010 - FALL

Quick Synopsis - At the Sophomore age group Edge maintains its focus and dedication to developing elite student athletes with the end goal of getting these athletes experience and visibility in the American Academic environment.

The boys will be in their second year playing at the HIGHSCHOOL club level. There level of competition increases even more at this point because the boys straddle the competition line between JV and Varsity. There will be times when we push this team up a level to test their skill level and give them experience against a much more mature team. This serves them in the 2 recruiting years to come as they will be much more aware of the level of competition ahead of them. The main goal is to challenge this team with game experiences that push their development.

This is done while simultaneously beginning to chart a plan with regards to the NCAA college recruiting process. The Sophomore year is when a large amount of NCAA attention shifts.

At this age, the importance of developing elite student athletes is stressed even more. Their highschool marks are utilized by the recruiting colleges from Grade Nine forward. It is important the athletes realize this. There will be regular updates required on each player’s progress/status in their classes and report cards will be necessary to send in for record keeping purposes. We take our commitment to education very seriously and when the boys dedicate themselves to being well rounded student athletes who excel both in the classroom and on the field, the number of collegiate opportunities expands.
